As a first time mom-to-be I’m learning the importance of positive thinking and speaking positively into the universe. I pray daily for the health of my baby, but we all have our moments of anxiety that may creep in. Every milestone that I’ve reached gave me a sigh a relief. Hearing the baby’s heartbeat for the first time, making it to the 12 week mark, completing a successful anatomy scan, and now reaching the age of viability. 

All of the tests you complete and reading baby forums can keep a first time mom on edge at times. Whenever I found myself becoming anxious, I would pray and repeat positive affirmations over my little one. When I started to make this a habit, I could feel myself more calm and confident in my pregnancy. This positive thinking, prayer, and the guidance of my Doula is helping me to prepare for a natural birth. Here are some positive affirmations/mantras that help me:

Take a nice deep cleansing breath and say these aloud every day or when feeling anxious.


“My baby and I are healthy and strong.”


“My body is perfectly made to give birth.”


“My baby feels love and our bond grows stronger each day.”


“I will enjoy each day of my pregnancy, even the days that aren’t so easy.”


“My pregnant body is beautiful.”


 “I’m nourishing my baby to grow.” 


“I will honor my body and will rest when I feel the need to.” 


“My body is capable of carrying my baby.”


“God gave me this blessing in his perfect timing, I will cherish every moment.”


“God is forming an amazing person that will live a purpose driven life.”


 “My child will make a difference in this world.”
