Is this my season?: Learning to wait

When spring arrives it gives everyone something to look forward to. As a plant mom, I look forward to seeing my plants grow wild. There is an awakening where nature truly blooms. Spring makes me reflect on my own life and the seeds that I have sown. Sometimes you may feel like the seeds you planted aren’t growing and you may be frustrated waiting for it to sprout.

I’ve had so many moments where I was upset and impatient. I would think to myself about all the hard work I put forth and wasn’t seeing the results. I would feel hopeless because I felt stagnant when I saw everyone else just zooming by so effortlessly. I’m here to tell you to: Stay encouraged! You may not see what is happening underneath that soil, but that seed is growing and waiting to push its greenery above the dirt in due time.

After sowing seeds, the longest time period is the wait for growth. We must learn to trust God and be patient. I’ve struggled with that plenty of times and I try to remain faithful and wait on him. Anyone can be full of joy when they are reaping their harvest and God’s promises are being fulfilled, but are you full of that same joy when you are waiting? God wants us to keep that same energy no matter what season we are going through.

I’ve had to make a conscious decision everyday to not compare another person’s harvest season to mine. You make look at the other person and think to yourself: “Everything is working out for them, they got “X” before me; when will it be my turn?”. That is not a good mindset of thinking because you do not know the sacrifice, patience, trials, and seasons they had to go through in order to even see their promises and dreams come to fruition.

Galatians 6:9 NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Today I challenge you to keep planting seeds of hope, joy, love, gratitude, positivity, faith, and hard work. Hold fast to God’s promises in your life. You will see a beautiful harvest that was created for you in due time.

Love + Light,
Danielle
