Taking care of plants is a mindful practice. When I care for my plant babies I feel at peace and my stress levels lower. If you couple this with meditation, it’s a whole vibe! I love repotting my plants, I like to feel the fresh soil between my fingers and I love the varieties and styles of different planters. A good rule of thumb is to repot about every 1- 2 years. Also, when I get a new plant I like to keep it in it’s nursery pot for a while before repotting.

The next time you repot give yourself a new self-care routine by doing the following:

  1. Lay out all your supplies and find a comfortable sitting position.

  2. Close your eyes , Take a moment to Inhale and count for 4 seconds and exhale and count for 4 seconds.

  3. focus your mind on a “planty” affirmation (this could be “I’m watered, I’m Nurtured, I’m Loved).

  4. flutter your eyes open slowly and When removing the plant from the nursery pot give thanks for it’s service of nurturing the life of that plant.

  5. carefully massage the roots with your bare hands and inhale for a count of four and exhale for a count of four.

  6. Use your bare hands to place new soil into your new vessel.

  7. Take your plant and gently place it in its new home.

  8. Surround/pack your plant with new soil and take deep cleansing breaths.

  9. slowly water your plant and declare your “planty” affirmation out loud.

I hope you enjoyed this activity! Namaste!
