Monthly Intention Series: 10 affirmations for January
The holidays are over and a new year has begun. The new year signifies a time for fresh starts and new beginnings. 2020 happened to be a year of a lot of new firsts and it was filled with emotion. In addition to the global pandemic, I personally dealt with a lot in my life and breathed a sigh of relief when the clock struck midnight on January 1st. This year I’m making it my goal to set the tone for each day that I begin. This includes daily prayer, time reading the word, eating nourishing foods and staying hydrated. One of the main acts of self-care that I want to intentionally practice is speaking affirmations over myself. The bible says that there is power in your thoughts and what you say. Your daily thoughts play a significant role in your mood and how you treat others and yourself. I don’t know about you but I want to spend my time thinking of positive thoughts and speaking uplifting words. This is where affirmations come in. An affirmation is an empowering word of encouragement. It can be a daily reminder that motivates yourself and others.
Here are some affirmations that have helped me daily during this month:
I am present in every moment.
I release any anger or resentment in my life.
I set boundaries in every area of my life.
I am exactly where I need to be.
I am a light to others.
I am letting go of things that no longer serve me.
I choose peace and joy daily.
Challenge: Write these down on a post-it note and stick it on your mirror. Let me know in the comments an affirmation for this month.
